By Air

If you want to transfer to Quang Ninh by air, there is a weekly helicopter flight which departs at Gia Lam Airport every Saturday. You can have the overview of Ha Long Bay and neighboring region.

By Train

If you are planning to go by train, you can take a train from Yen Vien Railway Station which is about 11km from the center of Hanoi to Ha Long Railway Station. It will take you around 7 hours to get there.

By Car and bus

Besides, air-con minibuses, buses, and taxi are always available at several bus stations like My Dinh, Gia Lam. It takes about 3 hours and a half to transfer from Hanoi to Bai Chay and vice versa.

You can also transfer from Hanoi to Hai Phong City and take a ferry from Binh Wharf to the dock in Hon Gai Town. It will take you two hours and a half for the route. From Bai Chay, if you would like to visit Mong Cai, the easternmost point in Vietnam, take a high speed hydrofoil which run daily between Bai Chay and Mong Cai. This hydrofoil only takes you nearly two hours.
