We did the two day, one night cruise in Halong Bay. The cruise was quite good, but Mike was excellent. He made sure everyone was comfortable and he had a good sense of humor. He genuinely cared about sharing his country and making sure we had a good experience.

At first, I was hesitant to visit Halong Bay because from what I've read, travel will take four hours from Hanoi. But the lovely staff of Hanoi Paradise Hotel said a trip to Hanoi is not complete without visiting Hanoi Bay. So I took the 1 day Halong Bay Tour. And they are definitely right!

We decided to book a 3-day 2-night trip on Halong Bay and it was well worth it, even with cloudy weather. The food was INCREDIBLE, staff was excellent, great service, safe, clean, and fun! We enjoyed meeting folks from other countries and the staff had the schedule well planned out. I wish the weather had been nicer but that just means we'll have to come back!

Service was good. Our guide Tom was funny and informative even on journey out of Hanoi. Loved the kayaking trip to the cave but somehow spoilt by boatloads of other tourists not sensitive to the pristine scenery and throwing sweets in wrappers to the monkeys. We opted for the 2 day/1 night package. The tour started as soon as we piled into the van for the drive to Ha Long Bay; the tour guide, Mike, immediately began explaining bits of Vietnamese culture, language and food. It was a nice way to pass a few of the hours.
