Being first time in Ha long bay for the cruise, it has been a mind blowing experience with the Alova gold cruise. The guide, Lucky, was fluent in English which was far more understandable than most Vietnamese i have met in Hanoi. He was funny, helpful and most importantly accommodating. We felt at home on the cruise, although the rooms were kind of small. Food were acceptable, but i love the breakfast on the 2nd day. the cocktail were great and really really authentic, my gf was even complimenting the bartender. Squid fishing at night on the boat ended me with catching a small little squid which was the highlight of my night! All in all, it is value for money and an enjoyable trip which has made me reluctant to leave Halong bay.
