We took the three day + two night cruise and quite enjoyed it. The food was very well prepared and we also loved the cooking classes. While the boat is less than a year old, there are still some minor problems like the bathroom door wouldn’t close as it was warped and need the attention of a carpenter. The staff members were very friendly and always keen to help out with any concerns or questions that we had. This is one of the budget cruises and we have also been on one to Halong Bay that was double the price. While the other boat was more luxurious and we had a bigger room, if you want to save your dollars for other adventures, then I highly recommend the Alova Gold cruise on Halong Bay. If your itinerary allows it, stay two nights instead of one night. If you only do the one night trip, you have very little time to see Halong Bay. You only arrive around 1.30 pm in the afternoon and then by 9.30 am the following morning, you are already motoring back to the Port.
